This service is designed to assist in transferring websites from other hosting providers to SiteEngine. However, to ensure clarity and manage expectations, this policy outlines the terms, conditions, limitations, and protections associated with the migration process. By requesting this service, customers acknowledge and agree to these terms.
2. Eligibility and Scope
- Eligibility: The free migration service is available to new customers purchasing a qualifying hosting plan (e.g., shared, VPS, or dedicated hosting) within the first 30 days of account activation. Existing customers may request migrations on a case-by-case basis, subject to approval and potential fees.
- Scope of Service: We will migrate standard website files, databases, emails, and configurations where applicable. This includes popular platforms such as WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, and e-commerce systems like WooCommerce or Magento, provided they are compatible with our infrastructure.
- Request Process: Customers must submit a migration request via our support portal, providing full access credentials (e.g., cPanel, FTP, database details) from the originating host. Incomplete or inaccurate information may delay or prevent the migration.
3. Limitations and Exclusions
To protect both SiteEngine and our customers, the following limitations apply:
- Non-Professionally Built Websites: We reserve the right to decline or limit migrations for websites that are not constructed using standard, professional practices. This includes sites with custom code, outdated plugins/themes, incompatible software, excessive file sizes (over 10 GB without prior approval), or structural issues that could compromise security, performance, or compatibility. In such cases, we may recommend professional assistance or charge additional fees for custom handling.
- Complex or High-Risk Migrations: Migrations involving multi-site setups, proprietary systems, large databases (over 5 GB), or sites with active e-commerce transactions may not qualify for free service. - Indemnification: By utilizing this service, customers agree to indemnify and hold SiteEngine harmless from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from the migration, including but not limited to intellectual property disputes, data breaches, or compatibility issues.
- Termination of Service: SiteEngine reserves the right to terminate or refuse the migration at any time if it poses risks to our systems, violates policies, or requires resources beyond the scope of free service.
5. Customer Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and timely access to all necessary accounts and data.
- Review and test the migrated site immediately upon completion to confirm functionality.
- Notify SiteEngine of any issues within 48 hours of migration completion for potential resolution under our support guidelines.
6. Amendments and Contact
This policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in our services or industry standards. Customers will be notified of material changes via email or our website.
